Today I'm up on the Chibitronics blog to share this light up mermaid card featuring Chibitronics white LED Sticker and Lawn Fawn mermaid for you stamp set!
I am using Lawn Fawn stamps on my card today. There’s a video of the entire process at the end of this post if you want to watch that instead of reading.
First, I created the underwater scene with watercoloring. After color dried, I stamped some bubbles in blue ink and cut some holes for LEDs light through. Next, I glued vellum behined the holes.
Then, I drew the parallel circut template and the switch sketch on the white card base. After sticked the copper tape over the templae, I sticked five white LEDs.
For the switch, I started off cutting the slit with an exacto knifethe, cut a pull-tab and then stamped the sentiment in black. The mechanics attached underneath the pull-tab is the thing that two squares folded in half, butting up against each other and wrapped with copper tape. That will bridge the gap in the circuit to turn the lights on.
To finish, I adhered the mermaids, corals and seaweeds onto the background.
